Powder Coating

POWDER COATING PROCESS & BENEFITS

Powder coating is a completely dry finishing process used on a wide range of materials and products. Finely ground particles of pigment and resin are electro-statically charged and sprayed on to products to be coated. The parts are electrically ground so the charged particles adhere to them until melted and fused into a solid coating in an oven, resulting in an aesthetically appealing, extremely durable product.

It’s all about the color and finish.

The sky’s the limit. Gloss, semi-gloss, flats, textures, pearls, glitters, fluorescents and candies.

In our 3000 square foot shop we have the ability to do two and three stage processes. Two ovens and two spray booths allows us to work efficiently and quickly. Whether it’s a one-off part/piece or hundreds of parts at time, we can do it. Attention to detail and maintaining tolerances are at the heart of our work.

If it’s metal, we can coat it.

  • Mild steel
  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum
  • Cast Aluminum
  • Galvanized steel
  • Cast iron

Heavy lifting? We can do it.

A forklift and overhead crane can handle big heavy parts.
PPC offers pick-up, and delivery services in our eighteen foot enclosed trailer! We pamper the powder coated product.

Green Technology. We love it.

Unlike liquid paint, no solvents are used, so only minimal amounts of VOC’s, if any, are released into the air. The powder coating process is environmentally friendly and virtually pollution-free.

Pre-powder Restoration. We can do that.

Bead Blasting removes rust, paint and old powder. PPC has a 4 x 4 x 8′ cabinet on-site. And if your part is too big for that, we’ll send it out for pre-powder preparation.

    Hot Black Oxide Coating

When tolerances matter, we’ve got you covered.

Black Oxide is unlike the other traditional finishes and PPC is the only company in the Northeast Kingdom that offers it. Blackening can be done in large batches and is ideal for small parts. This process is a rust-preventative, corrosion resistant coating for ferrous materials.

Black oxide coating has no significant dimensional impact on the product, (the blacking process creates a layer about a micrometer thick). It is used to add mild corrosion resistance for appearance and to minimize light reflection.

Black Oxide, or blackening, can only be used on alloy steel.
